Phil Mason received his Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) designation from The American College and has over twenty years of experience working with multigenerational family business owners. His professional mission and passion is helping business owners reduce risk, build wealth and improve tax efficiency*. He employs a blend of education and experience to help them understand, build and protect the value of their company while formulating succession and exit plans based on their unique goals, objectives and circumstances.

Phil began his 30 year career in the AT&T CFO organization. After five years, he left to become Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of 2nd generation family-owned Allied Steel in Newark, NJ. After three years, he joined 2nd generation family-owned Martec International in S. Plainfield, NJ, as Chief Financial Officer. He was promoted to Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer after twelve months and provided financial and operational leadership while the company expanded product distribution throughout North, Central and South America. Since leaving AT&T in 1994 he has vested 25 years advising family business owners in strategy, execution and succession.

As an Investment Advisor Representative, Phil helps owners of medium-sized companies coordinate and integrate their personal, business and estate planning which spans the family, business and ownership domains of their financial life. The coordination and integration of planning across these three domains is the essence of 3D Integration and a differentiator for the firm. This specialized and holistic approach helps address the complex and interrelated nature of business owner concerns and needs. His fee-based financial planning practice involves a ‘deep dive’ discovery process to assess the client’s present position. A customized plan is developed and delivered providing independent observations and recommendations**. As a Registered Representative of MML Investors Services, LLC, he assists clients with various investment needs as well as serving as lead representative on select company retirement plans.
