Joseph P. Mallee is an entrepreneur and executive in the financial planning and wealth management industry. He currently serves as CEO and General Agent for MassMutual Eastern Pennsylvania, a premier financial service firm servicing the Greater Eastern Pennsylvania region and New Jersey. Within Joe’s ten years in this position, the agency has grown double digits per annum and has qualified for the GAMA International Diamond Award every year since 2011.

When Joe became General Agent, he developed a unique brand in the marketplace and executed on two main focuses: strong community involvement and helping local businesses. He concentrated the agency’s efforts on SpecialCare and business planning.

Joe identifies closely with the complex situations that typically involve children and adults with special needs. Because of this, the agency works closely with local organizations that provide these services and support to the community. The agency participates in educational and community events that foster growth and awareness of the tools and resources available to families who have loved ones with a special need.

In 2012, in response to the tremendous need for comprehensive business owner planning that exists in the local market, Joe created a business planning branch within the agency. Since then, he has expanded the business planning team to include financial professionals with specific business planning niches, to better serve their business-owner clients.

Joe attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA and received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Risk Management Insurance. At the forefront of Joe’s personal life is his wife and son. Together, they share a strong passion for community involvement. In 2021, Joe was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Breakthrough Bike Challenge.

• In 2014, named one of the Lehigh Valley’s top Forty Under Forty Awards, which recognizes the accomplished young businessmen and women in the area
• In 2015, held the position of President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA)-Lehigh Valley Chapter.
• Political Ambassador for Finseca, which advocates for people to protect and enhance financial well-being — for themselves, their families, and their businesses.
